ILP “Design” – Piktochart

For my ILP design, I chose to use Piktochart which is an online presentation website that I had never used before. I heard of it a few years ago from a former teacher but I didn't know how to use it or what exactly it was other than a great tool for educational purposes both as a student and a teacher. It can be used to create a multitude of assignments including infographics, presentations, posters, reports, flyers, and visual content specifically created for social media platforms. I chose to create an infographic discussing books that would be read in my future high school English class and why I chose those books/how they fit into the overarching theme of the unit. I did use a template for my infographic, but I replaced almost all of it with my own designs, colors, text, and layout. I used the template for the "Coffe Shop" look with the image of the cups on a counter at the top. I thought it created a cute layout for my topic because there is a perceived image of people going to coffee shops to read. I thought it gave my infographic a unique touch but I didn't follow the template otherwise. I made my VoiceThread discussing my 6 PowerPoint slides.
